Workshops

Registration is open for Linocut Printmaking Workshop #7 on Saturday, April 18th, 10am-5pm, at the Tacoma Armory, Suite 15. I’ll guide you through the relief process of transferring your image onto 4”x6” linoleum blocks, carving, and hand printing proofs with oil-based ink and two washi (mulberry paper) prints to take home. We can add color with water-based pigments. This is a technique you can do at home once you have the materials and even print on textiles and fabric. Supported by ACE Accelerating Creative Enterprise, more info & register at: bit.ly/Linocut7YN

Join us for the Two-Color Linocut Printmaking Workshop on Saturday, May 9th at the Tacoma Armory, Suite 15 from 10-5! I’ll guide you through the process of carving your design into two 4″x6″ linoleum blocks and creating unique, two-color prints. Explore different transfer and registration techniques, carving methods, mixing color with oil-based ink, and hand printing proofs and at least two washi (mulberry paper) prints. If you have time to prepare before the workshop, please bring a two-color 4”x 6” rough sketch or image you’d like to work with. Take these skills with you to make prints at home once you have the materials! No prerequisite, but experience with one-color linocut is helpful. More info and register at: bit.ly/2CLino2
